💖How to find love in the little things: A Book Review💖

🐣Happy Easter🐣

I hope you are having the best Easter weekend and if you are in the UK making the most of the Sunshine. Wherever in the world you are I hope you are enjoying easter and all the chocolates. I will be spending the weekend dog sitting and then enjoying a small family day out on Monday!

This week I finished reading a book that I had picked up and started over a month ago but stopped reading it when certain events in my life made me feel like it was not a book I should be reading at that moment. It still amazes me that emotions control the things we are doing down to whether or not I could read a book. It turns out after finishing the book I was totally wrong it was exactly the book I had to read to gain a little perspective on life. anyone who knows me well knows that I am drawn to anything related to the phrase little things, it holds a special place in my life. This book was just another thing I had picked up due to it mentioning little things.

The novel is a tale of love, heartache, new jobs and most importantly finding yourself again. It tells the story of a young girl who lost her dad and broke up with her boyfriend in a short space of time. She leaves Paris where she was living with a friend to go and work as a psychologist in a care home. Whilst here she learns that as you get older and the world is changing dramatically from the way it was when you were younger it is important to find your joy and happiness in the little things in life. Working around old people as their therapist she learns the keys to love, loss and fixing yourself. She finds the importance of closure and how actually closing one chapter of your life and starting a new one may be all it takes to push you towards what you want in life or at least the right direction.

The novel is a heartwarming story that proves the importance of spending time with the older generation especially grandparents because things were very different for them when they were our age. It really makes you think about the beauty we are missing in everyday life by not paying attention to the little things in life. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who may not know where they are going in life or which direction they should take. Anyone who has some chapters of their life they want to move past maybe that still needs a little perspective as to why they have happened.

The thing I love most about this book is the idea that Love and I mean wholehearted love, not just the kind of relationship you are in because you do not want to be alone, can be found at any time of life, and it comes when you least expect it. I believe the author has done the most amazing job of showing that when relationships get hard it is important to work through the hard times and remember the little things that you appreciate most.

If you have read this book I would love to hear your opinions on it and how it made you feel.

However, you are spending this weekend I hope you get the opportunity to take some time out to appreciate the little things in life.

Love Always,

Gee xo
