Crossing in Time by D. L. Orton- Blog tour!

Happy June!

I hope you are all having a lovely June so far, and are all safe and well. Today is a really exciting day for me as today’s post is something a little different for me. It is my first official review as part of a blog tour hosted by the lovely #thewritereads, I am super excited about this one. I cannot thank Dave @thewritereads for getting me involved in this Ultimate Blog Tour. Today’s post is all about Crossing in Time by D.L.Orton and I have to admit this one surprised me with how much I enjoyed this book.

Title: Crossing in Time
Author: D.L. Orton
Series: Between Two Evils #1
Genre: Romance, Science Fiction, Fantasy

If someone took everything you live for, how far would you go to get it back?

When offered a one-way trip to the past, Iz sacrifices everything for a chance to change her dystopian future—and see her murdered lover one last time. After a perilous journey through a black hole, she wakes up on a tropical beach, buck naked and mortally wounded—but twenty years younger! With only hours to live, she must convince an enraptured but skeptical twenty-something guy to fix their future relationship and thereby save the planet (no one is quite sure why.) But it’s easier said than done, as success means losing him to a brainy, smart-mouthed bombshell (her younger self), and that’s a heartbreaker, save the world or not. Across the infinite expanse of space and time, love endures… (Unfortunately, it’s not going to be enough.) FALL INTO THIS EDGY, action-packed, darkly comedic, dystopian love story, and be prepared to encounter a finicky time machine, a mysterious seashell, and a very clever dog (some sex, some swearing, some violence, but no vampires and absolutely no ditzes.)

About the Author:

D.L. ORTON… Is the BEST-SELLING author of the BETWEEN TWO EVILS book series.
She lives in the Rocky Mountains where she and her husband are raising three boys, a golden retriever, two Siberian cats, and an extremely long-lived Triops. In
her spare time, she’s building a time machine so that someone can go back and do the laundry.

Ms. Orton is a graduate of Stanford University’s Writers Workshop and a past
editor of “Top of the Western Staircase,” a literary publication of the University
of Colorado at Boulder. The author has a number of short stories published in
traditional and online literary magazines, including Literotica, Melusine,
Cosmoetica, The Ranfurly Review, and Catalyst Press.

My Opinion:

Wow! Is really the only place to start, I was not 100% sure that this was going to be a book for me but I take it all back. It had me hooked from the start, although for a little while I was confused over the characters, once you are into the book it makes a lot more sense and is extremely addictive. It was a little confusing to begin with but I believe that is what made me want to continue reading, I love things that make me have to think about the different elements and what is going on and this certainly allowed that to happen.

This book regardless of its length will have you gripped to Isabel and Diego’s story, there is so much that happens that you just want to read more. I could not help but feel the need to root for them and their relationship. Along with their story this book heavily features time travel and who does not want that from their book. I loved how this book incorporates both Science Fiction along with romance.

I think one of the main reasons I loved it so much is because it covers many genres and is hard to pin point it as just being one. There truly is something for everyone and as I am a sucker for a romance having that element to it really did make the book for me.

I would 100% recommend this book as it has something for everyone and had me hooked from the moment I started reading until the moment it finished. It is very rare for me that a book like this would hook me in like this. It truly has the mark of an extremely talented author.

I cannot wait to get my hands on the rest of the series. Addicted would be a go word to describe my feelings for these characters.
