Things I love about Spring!

Happy March!!

With Spring right around the corner I thought it would be a good time to share with you some of the things that I love about Spring!

Spring for me means only one thing…a bunch of really cool things are coming up. For example, the 4th of March is World Book Day and for me especially whilst I was at school this was one of my favourite days. I am pretty sure I dressed up as Tracey Beaker one year, yes I was that cool. Not only is World Book Day coming up, the spring flowers are starting to bloom, the daily walks are starting to look incredibly different and well it means we are one step closer to having sunny days. Now just to find someone to come to the sunflower fields with me…

One of my favourite quotes about Spring is “Spring: A lovely reminder of how beautiful change can truly be.” I love this because it is so true, so many of us struggle with the idea of change. I know I am someone who does not always handle change in the best way, however I think that this quote puts it so beautifully. Change is inevitable and sometimes leads to something we did not know we needed. Embracing change is something I constantly try and work on. Maybe something I will make an effort to work on this Spring.

  1. The Flowers

This time of the year means one thing for me I am filling the house with Daffodils. I mean I would be lying if I did not admit to already treating myself to a couple bunches. After all it adds a little pop of yellow to the flat which just fills me with such happiness. This is something my dad actually started when he bought me a bunch for my uni room. It really is the little things that bring the most joy.

2. Spring Walks

What is more beautiful than a walk in the sunshine (whether permitting) with all the new flowers blossoming and it just puts you in such a good mood. Honestly walking is one of my favourite ways to clear my head and it is incredibly important to put your mental health first. If I can include the little things in this walk like the noticeable changes in the seasons then that to me is just a bonus.

3. Floral Dresses

We can start to bring out the floral dresses without having to cover them up as much with winter coats. The coats get lighter and the wardrobe becomes just a little bit more colourful.

4. Sunshine (A girl can hope)

It is always a good day when you wake up to sun coming through the window and not waking up to hearing the rain crash into the windows.

5. Longer Days

Now do not get me wrong I love autumn and winter as they have some of my favourite events. However I can’t wait to be able to leave home and then return after uni while it’s still light outside. (When we are actually allowed back out.) That and there is something so enjoyable about heading to the park with a good book and having a couple hours extra before it starts to get dark. It definitely makes walking in the afternoons more enjoyable. This also reminds me of one of my work colleagues who got far too excited over the shortest day of the year as it meant we were on our way to longer days. Which now looking at it I suppose is a good thing.

6. Windows Can Be Opened

I mean I do this all year round however there is nothing better than having the windows open and it not being freezing cold after five minutes. There is something so nice to be able to sit and have the windows open and have the fresh air surrounding the home.

7. Iced coffee

Again something I do all year round because COOFFEEEEE! However I feel like you get less strange looks for drinking Iced Coffee in the Spring/Summer.

8.Easter break

This goes without saying that this year I am looking forward to the Easter Break as it will allow me time to catch up on my uni work and hopefully work some more on the blog.

What are some of your favourite things about spring? What are you looking forward to this spring?

Love Always,

Gee xoxo
