My Top 5 Theatre Shows:

Happy Wednesday my loves,

I thought for this post I would talk about something I am obsessed with and in this case that is the theatre. Ever since I was little, I have loved the magic of the theatre, I always swear this was installed in my by my drama teacher who in fact still to this day is one of the worlds best people. I have never met a woman with so much passion for the things she loves and love for her students. Everyone deserves someone in their corner as she is forever one of the people I cannot imagine my life without.

I thought that for today’s post I would list and talk about five of my all-time favourite theatre shows. (a lot harder to pick than you would think.) If you have been a part if All Things Gee since the beginning you will know that this is the first post I ever posted! However I thought it was about time I updated this.

So here it goes:

Phantom of the Opera:

Now this was my first ever theatre show that I went to see in the West End and funny enough I saw because we studied this for GCSE Drama. Drama written work was my least favourite however this show was one that still to this day gave me a love for the theatre. I was not originally excited about going to see this as I did not see myself as a fan of the opera but still to this day it became my favourite musical theatre show. It is the most stunning story that even those who dislike opera would fall in love with this show. It is shown in one of the most gorgeous theatres and that alone gives it a spot.

Wicked:

My little obsession with miss Elphaba never seems to decrease no matter how many times I watch this show. It is a show that teaches you the true meaning of friendship and that even though you might see yourself as someone who is not beautiful by the rest of the world’s standards there is someone out there who thinks that you are beautiful no matter what the worlds typical standards are. It will certainly change you for good (well aware that if you have never seen it that reference will make no sense.) Someone very important to me loved this show and we were meant to go with him, sadly he passed away several years ago but his love for Wicked is certainly shared.

Waitress:

Where to start with this one… not only does it have one of the most incredible soundtracks, its storyline had me hooked from the beginning. I found myself a little emotional with this one. The emotions and the power shown on stage was incredible. I also saw it with Mr Joe Sugg staring in it so that made it incredible for me. I also saw this with one of my favourite people and it is always incredible sharing your theatre experience with someone new.

Everybody’s Talking about Jamie:

This one deserves its own special mention if I am being honest. I fell in love with this musical, its storyline and its cast. My heart was officially melted. I was also lucky enough to meet the lovely Rita Simons after this performance and it is up there with one of the best days I have ever had.

Dreamgirls:

Again no longer showing in the west end but still definitely up there with one the best musicals I have seen and also it is an emotional one. Hearing one of my all-time favourite songs being sung with extreme power in the Savoy Theatre puts this up there with the best of them. Left me with nothing but goosebumps.

So there that’s it my top 5 theatre shows but I can promise you I could go on for days about the wonders of the theatre.

Let’s be real the world has not been the same without the West End shows in full force… I cannot wait to get back into the theatre.

What’s your favourite theatre show?

Love always,

Gee xo

      1. I think or at least I explain it to people as being able to escape reality for a few hours and experience something truly beautiful and unique. Definitely something I don’t think I will ever stop loving xo

      3. I love the way the music picks you up and takes you on a roller coaster ride – the same ride everyone else sitting next to, in front and behind you is on as the story explains why you are feelings what you do and everyone around you is feeling it and understanding it at the same time. We stop being individuals and become totally connected emotionally with the other members of the audience as we are immersed in the fantasy being created each performance.
