With Halloween just around the corner, and it being officially the second week of Blogtober, I thought I would share with you some of my favourite things to do when trying to create a spooky cozy night in. Especially since I have been working from home, having the opportunities for a cosy night in has been a great way to seperate home and work.
Now everyone knows I love a good candle and especially this time of the year. In all honesty, most of the candles I pick up this time of year are pumpkin scented. Any excuse to have my room smell like autumn and pumpkins is a good excuse to me. Lighting a few candles just makes everything feel that little more cosy and homey.
It turns out I actually own one too many blankets but you can’t go wrong with a good movie and cosying up in a blanket. I just feel they are a necessity. This year I picked up a burnt orange blanket because I decided that it would have to be on theme.
Drinks and snacks:
As it is Autumn and it is getting a little colder it is about the right time to have a hot chocolate stash in the kitchen. So for a cosy night in I tend to turn to a hot chocolate or a cup of tea. However we also know how much I love my tea and this year Bird and Blend Tea Co have had some of the best flavours ever for this time of year.
Snacks wise I like to keep it simple with popcorn or chip sticks (salt and vinegar flavoured crisps)
As you all know I am a book geek so any excuse to curl up in a ball and read a good book is always a favourite. At the moment I am currently reading Dracula (well rereading). If I am not in the mood to read a good film is normally my next go-to. Since it is October you best believe that I will be watching as many childhood classic Halloween films as I can fit in during October. A go-to for me is normally Beetlejuice, Hocus Pocus or Practical Magic.
